I came to the same conclusion about manicures… until I discovered Shellac!!! Oh, Shellac… it’s miraculous!
My problem is… I have very thin, weak brittle nails. I’ve joked that God didn’t give me fingernails, he gave me fish scales instead. A manicure would only last until I either showered or washed dishes.
Then a nail tech told me about Shellac. It’s three- four coats of shellac and each coat is dried under some sort of laser light or infrared light or some such. So it’s dried instantly, you don’t have to worry about smudging or chipping. And it makes my nails indestructible!!! (my nails tend to break and split so having indestructible nails for the first time in my life is nothing short of miraculous.)
It costs a bit more… but it can last for a full month! you can see where it grows out at the bottom… but I have them paint mine clear so you really have to look to notice. also, a little cuticle cream twice a day… my nails have never looked better!

At a little class reunion-type get together last night, we were talking about how some people in our graduating class have kids who are old enough to drive. CRAZY. Anyway, we were trying to figure out who had the oldest child, and I decided that I would likely be in the running for the youngest child at my rate. You could join me in that, if you like. If this is my Jesus year, I really need to get going on the marriage front, but I’m not feeling frantic or anything about it. If I meet someone, hoorah, but if not, then not. I agree about the not making things an issue if they’re not. Good luck in trying to regularly ride the crimson wave. I liked how you said this: “It isn’t something that most women truly relish.” But yeah, I can see how not having it could be a little stressful, too. Good luck.

Would yoga be a safe workout while you wait? I really loved how it is great exercise and you can do it anywhere, just like running. Just a thought! I’ve been exactly where you are, we finally decided to have kids even though I never had “baby fever” and I still don’t, but I also think there is nothing wrong with choosing to be child-free! There are a lot of things I really miss about being child-free, it’s not a decision to be taken lightly and you’re right to give it thought!

I took a film appreciation class at SUU, and we talked about the Godfather, so I felt like I should watch it, but alas never did.
Weird Al is awesome. We listened to the Smells Like Nirvana cd on the bus for practically every art guild field trip in high school. Though Eat It, Fat, and his early stuff is the best.
I turn songs into personal serenades for my new babies. And a dog is like a baby, so it’s the same thing.

Neil Patrick Harris! And sometimes there’s a third even deeper level, and that one is the same as the top surface one. Like with pie.

I actually kinda like Big Macs.

I really enjoyed The Godfather. I think if you do force yourself to watch it, you’ll end seeing why it’s so popular.
