On the outside, I try to project an image of having it all together. But underneath that, I'm kind of a disaster. Hence... the name of the site: GlossyVeneer. - have never eaten a Big Mac. They just look gross to me.
- have never worn a strapless dress or top. Not even sure how to wear them. I assume the dresses are usually worn with a strapless bra, but do gals wear a bra with cotton strapless tops? Seems like a lot of hardware for little shirt.
- have not seen the Godfather movies. I keep thinking I should watch them, but never feel compelled to sit down and spend the time on them.
- have concluded that manicures are just not worth the time or money. But pedicures are TOTALLY worth it!
- am a fan of Weird Al… I blame/thank my husband as I only knew his mainstream releases before we were together.
- am slightly bored with Facebook lately.
- sing to Jade The Boxer, frequently. Most of the time I twist pop songs into dog-specific tunes. Poker Face becomes Puppy Face. Party in the USA becomes Puppy in the USA or Farty in the USA, depending on the situation. And You Are My Sunshine stays the same… because she is my sunshine and she does make me happy when skies are gray (even when it is just emotional skies.)
- feel stifled by my job. I want to master so many new things (app development, CSS3, HTML5, etc.) yet it feels non-stop just maintaining status quo. And the status is not quo. (Bonus points if you can name where that line comes from.)
- want to go to a cabin the mountains for a long weekend with my dog. Too many cabins for rent won’t let me bring my dog.
- like the TV show The Voice, but hope it doesn’t continue on for too many seasons like American Idol has.

I took a film appreciation class at SUU, and we talked about the Godfather, so I felt like I should watch it, but alas never did.
Weird Al is awesome. We listened to the Smells Like Nirvana cd on the bus for practically every art guild field trip in high school. Though Eat It, Fat, and his early stuff is the best.
I turn songs into personal serenades for my new babies. And a dog is like a baby, so it’s the same thing. -
I came to the same conclusion about manicures… until I discovered Shellac!!! Oh, Shellac… it’s miraculous!
My problem is… I have very thin, weak brittle nails. I’ve joked that God didn’t give me fingernails, he gave me fish scales instead. A manicure would only last until I either showered or washed dishes.
Then a nail tech told me about Shellac. It’s three- four coats of shellac and each coat is dried under some sort of laser light or infrared light or some such. So it’s dried instantly, you don’t have to worry about smudging or chipping. And it makes my nails indestructible!!! (my nails tend to break and split so having indestructible nails for the first time in my life is nothing short of miraculous.)
It costs a bit more… but it can last for a full month! you can see where it grows out at the bottom… but I have them paint mine clear so you really have to look to notice. also, a little cuticle cream twice a day… my nails have never looked better!
