The Green Mile

Plot:
The story about the lives of guards on death row leading up to the execution of black man accused of child murder & rape
From the IMDB Profile

Notable:
Michael Clarke Duncan was recommended for his role in this by Bruce Willis, because they had worked together on Armageddon. And no, Bruce Willis is not in this movie.

Quote:
Like the drink, only not spelled the same.

Rating: R for violence, language and some sex-related material

My Thoughts:
I’m not quite sure why I haven’t seen this movie earlier, but it’s one of those “Wow…” movies. Not a “WOW!!” movie, but a more thoughtful and drawn out “Wow…”.

All of the actors are absolutely phenomenal in their roles. Everyone just melts into the characters and it’s all seamless. The visuals are powerful, I haven’t seen a movie in a long time that makes me reach for my husband’s hands at times, makes me tear up at times and makes my hand fly up to my mouth in shock or fear. It’s riveting.

It’s definitely not a fly-by-the-night film, one that I would turn on the TV for mindless chatter in the background. And it’s an investment, at 3 hours long. But it will stick with me, both in terms of story and the things I saw on the screen.
