My Thoughts:
To be honest, I didn’t know what this movie was going into it. I knew that it had received a lot of critical acclaim and that my husband said we should put it on our Netflix list. I was pretty sure it had something to do with aliens. Based on that little bit of information, the movie was extremely different from what I had expected.
It’s gory and weird and unexpected and thought-provoking. The acting is great, the effects are pretty damn cool, the pacing is done well… overall I liked this film. Not sure I want to watch it again, because it was definitely kind of gross. And I wouldn’t recommend snacking during it, at least that’s how I felt because some of the visuals were outright nasty. But this was a solid film; very unique, which is something that I’ve started to fear is lacking in the film world.
