Quantum of Solace
This movie felt like it was a lot longer than it actually was. That’s usually not a great thing…
I’ll be honest, I started watching Bond movies when Pierce Brosnan was first cast, so I don’t have a lot of history with the franchise. The two Daniel Craig ones are very different, they feel a lot grittier and more serious. They do have some moments of humor, kind of a dry/subtle humor. I enjoy watching Craig on camera and Dame Judi Dench is always a winner.
The story seems a little overly-complex. It was understandable, but it seemed like I had lots of moments where I found myself consciously thinking throughout the film, “Where are they going with this?” When you can actually pause and reflect on those questions, well that seems to me like it isn’t moving as well as it should be.
But overall, I guess it was a solid Bond flick. I’m not a huge fan of the series, but it was definitely watchable.

I liked it.
No, it didn’t have all the gadget stuff of movies past, but I didn’t mind that. I think Daniel Craig is a great Bond. I like all the action and if it’s a little Bourne-like, then I am ok with that too.
Pure entertainment. :)
