On the outside, I try to project an image of having it all together. But underneath that, I'm kind of a disaster. Hence... the name of the site: GlossyVeneer. We’ll be heading to San Antonio in a couple weeks for my marathon and I have a cupcake place or two that I want to try while we’re there. Anyone who has read this site for any amount of time knows of my friendship with Kari, who owns Retro Bakery here in town. The other day I was talking about the places we’ll be going to in San Antonio and the cupcake shop was among the things I ticked off.
Him: Cupcakes in San Antonio? Isn’t that cheating on Retro?
Me: No, it’s not cheating if it’s out of town.
Him: I’ll remember that when I’m in Tucson for work over the next couple weeks.
Me: Cupcakes are different than spouses.
Him: There you go, making up rules…
