The Dog’s Symptoms

Since my brother moved to South Korea he needed someone to watch his dog for him. Seems it would cost a whole lot to take the dog there and she might be looked upon as a delicacy by some of the locals. So my parents are watching the dog.

The other day my mom messaged my Blackberry and said she had taken my brother’s dog to the vet. The dog had a a bunch of symptoms that they wanted to get checked out. Flaky skin, not so lustrous coat (that was thinning in spots), claws breaking, weight gain, low energy…

The vet decided they needed to do a thyroid test on the dog, since all the symptoms indicated low thyroid function.

Of course!

It all seems so obvious now. I had similar symptoms when I discovered my thyroid problem. (My coat was very lacking in luster!)

Never thought I would be able to compare medical symptoms with a dog and discover that we had something in common!
