On the outside, I try to project an image of having it all together. But underneath that, I'm kind of a disaster. Hence... the name of the site: GlossyVeneer. Do you remember about a year ago when spinach was making people sick? One of the biggest names that were hit by this contamination was Earthbound Farm Organic.
The other day I bought a package of Earthbound Farm Organic spinach and found a little surprise inside the package. It wasn’t listed on the ingredients nor did the package reference that I might find a “prize” inside. But as I reached in to grab a handful of leaves, my hand embraced another item.
I think it’s some kind of packing invoice or something. It was ripped and I didn’t have the whole piece (I imagine there was some other lucky person that got the rest of it!).
I know this isn’t as offensive as getting a package that comes complete with a little E. Coli and I realize that accidents do occur, but I’m still not really happy to receive garbage packaged in with my food.
All I can say is that I’m very glad that it wasn’t a human finger or some other bizarre item that seems to pop-up in fast food items.
