Food Rant: America’s Fat Problem
Michael Ruhlman is a noted food writer and he served as a judge on the recent competition on the Food Network, “The Next Iron Chef”. He recently posted about fats on his blog. Timely considering my post yesterday. I gotta get to the grocery store and buy some fat-laden foods!
Self Magazine: Eat Like Me
This blog has been fascinating to me for quite some time now. Basically it’s just an RD posting what she eats for every single meal. She follows the government’s MyPyramid stuff pretty closely, and I’m not entirely sure I follow that philosophy 100%. The Harvard Nutrition pyramid is kind of interesting to me and I think I’m going to read Walt Willett’s book Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating. But this is still a good site.
Kath Eats Real Food
Do you ever follow the links to other blog postings that appear under the BlogHer ads on various sites? You should, you never know when you might stumble upon something good. That’s how I found this site. The thing I love about Kath’s site is it reminds me that you can eat really healthy food, it is absolutely delicious and you can eat a lot of it when it’s truly good for you. The whole principle of volume in eating is a great concept for me to remember. I am really eager to go buy some bananas so I can try her recipe for Classic Kath Oatmeal. It sounds heavenly. (Oh, and her husband contributes to the site some too. He makes bread, how awesome would that be? My hubby needs to learn some kind of specialty dish in the kitchen. – I’m only teasing honey, no pressure!)
