National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Plot:
Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates looks to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 pages missing from assassin John Wilkes Booth’s diary.
From the IMDB Profile

Notable:
Helen Mirren… in a popcorn flick! Brilliant!!!

Quote:
The last time I checked, we make our living off crazy.

Thoughts:
It wasn’t as solid as the first film, but it was still fun and it made a great date night. How can you go wrong with a goofy action flick, a bucket of popcorn and good company? They left it wide open for another sequel, not even a little subtlety in that. I didn’t like the relationship between the Abigail and Ben characters this time as much as the first film and the Riley character didn’t have as many witty one-liners (they tried, but didn’t quite succeeed). But even though it was overall weaker, it was still pretty good just because it provided mindless entertainment.

Rating: PG for some violence and action

  1. Kasey wants to see this so badly and I heard it got terrible reviews. Glad to see it’s not so bad. I can take something light. I’m just not a fan of action movies.

  2. Sparklie: It’s definitely not an action movie in the typical “shoot ‘em up” sense. It’s a fun movie. I think you and Kasey would enjoy it.
