Jill Needs

Remember the post a little while back about the trick of typing your name followed by the word needs into Google to see what is lacking in your life?

On some days, I don’t know what I need and maybe would be better off if I just asked Google. But right now, right this very moment… I have a fairly good idea of what I need.

Jill Needs To Eat a Piece of Two of Halloween Candy
That may not sound like much, but that’s extreme indulgence.

Jill Needs To Find a New Foundation
I have the hardest time with makeup. I swear, every time I buy something new I hate it and then try to use it for a while, partly out of frugality and partly because I don’t know how to find something new. And lately, the color options are so overwhelming to me. Maybe I need to go to a makeup counter and have them tell me what color to wear and how to apply it. Any suggestions?

Jill Needs a Haircut
My hair is looking pretty shaggy lately, and I am ready for a change. I hope the magnificent Whoorl suggests something dramatic when I’m featured on Hair Thursday, like a purple mohawk. Because today, that’s the dramatic change I could embrace. It’s probably a good thing I’m not getting my hair cut today, huh?

And just out of silliness, here is what Google says that I need right now:
- volunteers
- to learn that it’s normal for someone to have a bad day
- to back off
- to move on
- counseling

And in reality?
Jill needs to get the Halloween candy out of the bags and into a bowl for the impending rush of trick-of-treaters. As well as put the candles in the pumpkins and place them outside. So, I should get on that.

Quick Notes

NaBloPoMo:
Once again, I’ve committed to NaBloPoMo. That means I’m supposed to blog every day during November. That could be quite a challenge, since I’m feeling particularly unmotivated right now. I have tons of things swirling around in my head, I’m just trying to decide if I have the strength to open up about those on my blog. It might be helpful, but I’m trying to decide if the world needs to know everything. You know, fear of judgment and such.

Pumpkins:
We’ve got our pumpkins purchased, so we can do our Halloween carving tomorrow night. We can’t ever carve very far in advance, otherwise the pumpkins end up all shriveled and ugly before the 31st. And speaking of carvings, some of our pumpkin carving adventures from past years are being featured on Yahoo! Events. They picked up the picks from my Flickr set.

Pretty Party:
My salon/spa sent me an invite to a customer appreciation evening in the middle of November. They’re having an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, massages, mani/pedis, and product sampling. It’s an Aveda salon. I have to RSVP by November 5. Sounds kind of intriguing, and my hubby will be out of town for business that week anyway. I’m glad for the chance to do something a little different from the everyday.
