Burn Out

I’m feeling really burnt out lately. Maybe it’s my job, maybe it’s the daily grind, maybe it’s the neverending kitchen remodel, maybe it’s too much on my plate (and planning on adding more and more), or maybe I’m just being a wimp.

Whatever the case, I really want to curl up and ignore everything for a good long time.

  1. I think you need a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Fudgie Brownie chocolate ice-cream. It usually helps. Hope things calm down soon.

  2. Heather: Mmmm…. chocolate. Thank you… You’re a sweetie.

  3. Okay I know you can’t have the ice cream without getting sick. So here is what I think you should do…. You should take a day off from your job. Leave the house… don’t take the phone… okay, if you do… don’t understand it…. you should go explore the area you live in. Go to the parks. Go find one of those water parks. Run through the water. Make Kevin take off too… just play hookie all day. BE A TEENAGER! (be me in college… I graduated right????) PLAY. RELAX. TAKE TIME FOR YOU. Know that you are loved… and remember that you don’t have a baby right now who is filling her diaper for you to change.

  4. I have been feeling burn out for about 2.5 years. Ugh.

  5. I think I gave you my case of the “Ugs” when I drove through Las Vegas this week. Maybe you are just depressed because you missed me shouting “I love you, Glossy Veneer!!!!!” as I careened down the strip in my Passat Wagon.
    :)

  6. Melissa: Hookie… that sounds so nice. I like the advice to be you in college. That cracked me up. And yep, you graduated because I have all those fun photos with all of us wandering around in our gowns, Kevin in shorts and stuff. Those were fun times… I need to go back to that time, I wasn’t burnt out then!

Cardine: I thought I was burnt out for a long time, but this is a whole new level of apathy and stress. It’s amazing. Don’t get here! :-)

Loralee: Damn that strip for drowning out your props to me. But I did think it was ironic that both of us seem to have the “Ugs” lately. I’m finding that we have more and more in common!
