I’ve Still Got It!

Want to know what I did last night?

I ran!

I haven’t run for about 2-3 weeks – since I’ve been sick. I forced myself to pull back so I could attempt to get feeling better and that effort is apparently working as I’m not nearly as dependent upon all of the medications in order to make it through a day. The weird thing is that I was getting antsy without running. It’s almost like I NEEDED to run again.

Yesterday I felt strong enough to try and get back on the running wagon. I was a little apprehensive, afraid that I would have lost any endurance that I’ve built up, but I was able to jump back in and do just as well as I could before I started getting sick.

I’m thrilled about this because it means that next week I’ll be able to pick up on the next week of my running program instead of having to move back and repeat some parts of the training.

Now I have to go pack. Kevin and I are getting up bright and early tomorrow morning to travel to The Vegas so we can continue with the housing search. We are talking with builders this weekend as we explore the possibility of building a home.

Wish us luck.

President’s Day Weekend

I’ve been meaning to post about my weekend, but my schedule has been over-extended the past little bit and it isn’t clearing up any time soon. So, here’s the short version of what we did this weekend, in my 2 minutes of breathing space.

Saturday:
We went to the St. George Parade of Homes for the morning. My hubby had to work at 3:00, so we just got to see five houses. That was okay because I was exhausted from being sick and then I spent the afternoon reading and dozing and taking a bath and dozing in the bath and reading in bed then falling asleep.

Sunday:
All I did was sleep and bum around all day. I apparently needed a couple days of rest in order to get feeling better. I watched a couple of videos to keep myself entertained, but Little Black Book is not really worth mentioning…. ooops, I mentioned it! Honestly, it could have been better if someone else played Brittany Murphy’s role, but then I say that about everything I see her in.

Monday:
We went back to St. George to see more homes. We thought we would get ideas for future homes, but it’s hard to get decorating and building ideas from $1.5 million homes that are completely southwestern, which isn’t my style at all. There were a couple of really nice places, but overall we weren’t that impressed. We went out to dinner where I got a mediocre salad at Chili’s with terrible dressing. (Glad I ordered it on the side.)

So you can see, my weekend was soooo exciting. I actually had funny stories and anecdotes about things that happened, but I don’t see those making it on here because of a lack of time! But I am feeling somewhat better, in case you were wondering.
