Well, I guess I’m done Christmas shopping. Not by choice but more by necessity.
I was planning on getting some Christmas shopping done when I went to dinner with my friend last week. That trip was screwed up by the stupid Neon and now the damn car is causing even more troubles.
We just got an estimate to fix the car. Apparently about everything that could be wrong with the car is broken because it’s going to cost more than $1000 to fix it.
The blue book value on the piece of junk isn’t very much. Once it is in an oprational mode again, the trade-in value is only about $1700 and if I were to sell it myself I could supposedly get $2500 for it. Of course, if it’s in the oversized paperweight mode that it is currently in, it’s not worth much at all.
Since it is costing so much to fix the car, I think I’m done shopping.
Sorry honey, you may not have a stocking…. or new dress pants…. or a medicine ball…. or some other items that you wanted. You’ll have to be content with the items that I have already purchased for you.
Sorry Dad, I hope you like that tiny little box of Godiva chocolates that I bought for you in The Vegas. I could have bought you about 20 Snickers bars for the price of this little box, so appreciate them, alright?
