On top of the cold/flu feeling I’ve had lately, now I’m sick to my stomach. I don’t know exactly why I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m blaming last night’s meal.
We were given our choice of one of four entrees last night for Kevin’s work party.
1. Prime Rib
2. Fried Shrimp
3. Shrimp Scampi
4. Teriyaki Chicken
I’m not a big beef eater plus Prime Rib kind of grosses me out because it’s so fatty and bloody and just plain nauseating. So that one was out.
I don’t really eat fried food very much. So I didn’t want the fried shrimp.
I don’t eat shrimp scampi. Here’s why: Kevin and I got engaged at the Sundance Resort. After sharing a toast at the top of the mountain, we went out to dinner where I had shrimp scampi. Then we went back to my apartment to start calling family and tell them that we were officially engaged. But I started feeling sick and instead of calling people to share the news, I spent the evening praying to the porcelain god. So now I equate shrimp scampi with that sickness.
Thus, I’m left with the option of teriyaki chicken. I like chicken, so I was okay with this. But it just wasn’t very appetizing. We didn’t get to choose our side dishes so I didn’t get a sweet potato, just a regular baked potato. So I had salad and half of my chicken breast. But halfway through I was feeling queasy so I stopped eating. We left the party first and came home, where I got in bed at about 8:30 pm. I am a wild and crazy party animal.
