Love Actually
Turkey Day Success
Thanksgiving dinner came off well. No problems, even though Kevin’s work tried to create problems for us. He was scheduled to work from 5-11 that day, so we were planning on dinner at 2:00. He went into work a couple days before and noticed that the boss had changed the schedule without saying anything to him. She had changed it so he was scheduled 3-11. We were very irritated and he let her know that we had plans and fortunately she found somebody to cover the two hours. It just amazes me how people don’t think about their co-workers at all. The fact that she decided to rearrange the schedule that had been in place for a month on a holiday without telling anybody is just rude. But apparently she doesn’t think of things like that, just herself. Oh well, it worked out fine. Kevin made some wonderful pies, the turkey, sweet potatoes and I made mashed potatoes and the stuffing. My brother and sister-in-law brought rolls, salad, a veggie tray and ice cream to go with the pie. After Kevin went to work for the evening the three of us watched Home Alone on TV and just chatted. It was a nice evening and I enjoyed it. More than anything though, I’m enjoying the brief time away from work. But this is making me anticipate the Christmas time even more. I think I have it worked out so that I don’t have to go to work at all from December 23 to January 5, and that is just amazing to me. I haven’t had a break like that since….maybe high school. I have no idea what I’m going to do during that time, other than enjoy life.
