Okay…every time I talk to somebody new, it seems they have heard about my weekend and they have some distorted view of what happened. So to clarify….
- On Saturday I went to the BYU/Tulane game in Provo, Utah. Why? I don’t know why, because I really don’t care about BYU or Tulane football. But I went.
- It was extremely hot there. It was over 100 down on the field. I wasn’t handling the heat well and at half-time my husband and I went to go get drinks.
- We were standing in line at the concession stand in the concourse when I started to feel dizzy. I said, “Kevin, I’m in trouble.”
- Everything went black so I plopped down on my butt really fast. There was a chair at the head of the line and Kevin helped me into it and a cop came up immediately and told me to stay there.
- The cop went to get an EMT, who came and checked my blood pressure and pulse and said, “You seem okay to me. Just sit here, relax and drink some water slowly.”
- So I sat there, drank some water then went back out to the game for another quarter. Then I left.
Contrary to what people have heard, I did not pass out cold and hit the ground. I did not have to be resuscitated by the EMT’s and I am fine. The only thing I learned is that I don’t want to go to afternoon football games in August ever again. I’ll stick to night games in the fall.
